A: We are presuming you talking about the “Can You Feel It” music as played in the above youtube video? That song is a remix that includes Michael Jackson’s hit single “Can You Feel It” with Jackson 5 that was released in 2005. And that single is actually a remake of the 1984 song by the same name as sung by the The Jacksons.

When the Big Ten union was founded in 1896, there was obviously ten universities involved. When Penn State was added in 1990 to make eleven teams involved, the Big Ten didn’t change their name, but instead changed their logo to include the number “11″. Now that Nebraska is officially part of the Big Ten, will they revamp their logo to include the number “12″? These are things that advertising/marketing people like me think about.  Check out more logos with hidden messages. Interesting read.

I was in sunny SoCal last weekend sporting my Husker jersey during ShareASale’s Think Tank Event at the beautiful Pelican Hill Resort in Newport Beach, California.

Who would’ve thought that Nebraska would actually lose to Iowa State? I have to admit I was almost embarrassed to be donning my jersey after the 9-7 loss to the Cyclones, especially after meeting an Iowa State alumni that heckled me dearly.

First Hilter reacted to Virginia Tech beating us. Then again when Texas Tech handed it to us.  Now Hilter rants about the Husker’s loss to Iowa State…

Last night during the NU vs Mizzou game, before the Husker’s comeback against the Tigers matched the largest fourth-quarter comeback in school history, there was quite a bit of tension among Nebraska fans.  Discussion involved talking about a “Big Red Brick” that one remembered from his college days – a red foam life-like brick complete with holes that one could throw at the TV when a bad play was called. So today after 27-12 win, I decided to see if I could find such brick for the next game.

Here’s what I came up with so far…

The Bad Call Brick, a standard size foam rubber brick, available for $6.99 from HuskerVideo.com, but appears it would work for any team/sport.

Amazon also offers a Football University Bad Call Brick for $3.59.

Now I’m considering ordering my own Corporate Logo Foam Bricks to promote this very Husker website and hand out – who would want one??

So, the #19 Huskers fell to the #13 Virginia Tech Hokies in the final seconds of Saturday’s game (9/19/09) losing by one point 16-15. Definitely not a laughing matter for football fans, but you may get a chuckle out from this YouTube video – a parody of Adolf Hitler’s reaction to Nebraska getting beat.

The Huskers defeated Florida Atlantic yesterday 49-3. Since my son left for college at UNL and had student tickets to the game, I missed him having his friends over for a football party watching the game on Pay-Per-View. I wish we could watch the Husker games online for free! At least we can listen to the Husker games free via the internet.

Without my son home to remind me, I almost forgot to post the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2009 Football Schedule!  So, here goes…

In all of our household busyness, my son (as seen above with dear ole me) graduated from high school last month and has already moved to Omaha for the summer to work.  But we met to go to Lincoln together last week for New Student Orientation at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.  It was an all day affair 7:30 – 5, which I think could have been shortened to half a day if they cut out some of the skits, shortened some presentations and offered tours a la carte (as we’d previously had the same tour on a campus visit). But it was informative for both of us nonetheless. My son is super excited to start attending, and he is all registered for classes to start this fall.  My guess is that his favorite part of college will be the student tickets to the football games and the all-you-can-eat cafeteria buffets (yes, it’s that much better than my cooking).  And the best part of the day for me was when they thought I was one of the students and not a parent!  I thought it was a compliment even though they apologized for the error. Overall the experience made me wish I personally had attended UNL in my former life to be able to call myself a true “Husker” instead of just a Husker fan.

Yesterday was World No Tobacco Day, and today Nebraska’s Clean Indoor Air Act goes into effect! The law bans smoking in all public places and businesses except cigar bars and 20% of hotel rooms. Yippee! Can you tell I’m a non-smoker? Sure the smokers are upset – I say it’s a good time for everyone to quit!

I posted on my Facebook page (are you my friend yet?) how excited I was for this day to come. Got some good commentary/feedback…
