  • You can drive 65 mph through two feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without flinching.
  • You install a security light on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.
  • You carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend knows how to use them.
  • You were unaware that there is a legal drinking age.
  • A brat is something you eat.
  • You go out to tailgate party every Friday.
  • You know what the “sea of red and white” is.
  • You wake up when it’s dark and you go to bed when it’s still light.
  • You can tell it’s really a farmer working late in the field, and not a UFO.
  • You know the difference between field corn and sweet corn when they are still on the stalk.
  • You fly your American flag at half mast when the Huskers lose a football game.
  • You know how to pronounce Beatrice, Norfolk and Kearney.
  • You don’t understand why other states even bother to try raising beef.
  • You take pride in knowing that on Saturdays, Memorial Stadium is the third largest city in the state.
  • You know what a Runza is.
  • You call lunch “dinner” and dinner “supper.”
  • You actually understand these jokes, and you share them with all your Nebraska friends.
