PAC 12 Conference Championship Predictions
Who: University of California, Los Angeles Bruins & Stanford University Cardinal
What: PAC-12 Conference Championship
When: 5:00 pm – Pacific Time Zone on November 30th
Where: Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, California
Who wins & Why:
Nothing worse than playing the same team in back-to-back weeks. After last week’s November 24 match-up in which Stanford muscled for a 35 to 17 victory. UCLA and Stanford deck it out again but this time for the PAC-12 conference title and a chance to play in the Rose Bowl versus the Big Ten champion (either Nebraska or Wisconsin). I expect the physical play of Stanford’s offense and defense to be a key component on who will prevail in this contest. The Cardinal offensive line should start where they last left off and allow Stepfan Taylor to slowly chip away at the UCLA defense until he breaks away for a home-run type of play. With an offensive system still in year one, UCLA will have trouble moving against the Cardinal front seven but will break at least three huge plays to keep momentum under control. UCLA head coach Jim Mora is defensive minded and should throw different fronts and install different blitz packages to hamper the Stanford offense for about a quarter or two. After that time frame expect Stanford to take the momentum and run away with the game to punch a ticket to Pasadena, a place they just beat UCLA a week before. That said anything goes in college football and upsets do happen but Stanford should beat UCLA again with a score of 27 to 19.
