She is one of the most decorated volleyball players to come out of the Katy area earning the Gatorade player of the year as a junior and a senior. She was the no. 3 overall prospect by PrepVolleyball.com in the class of 2018 and the no. 2 outside hitter in the class.
Ally graduated from Seven Lakes High School in Houston, Texas. A public senior high school. In Katy, Texas. Seven Lakes High School is ranked in the top National Rankings. Seven Lakes High School is an independent state school.
Ally comes from an athletic family. Ally’s mother, Susan, attended UNL. Ally’s dad, Kurt, played basketball and ran track for Nebraska-Wesleyan Ally has 2 siblings, Danielle, is an outside hitter at Gonzaga and her sister Casey plays volleyball at Seven Lakes in Houston.

She then advanced to play middle blocker before moving on as an outside hitter. As Nebraska saw potential in this young girl, they recruited her through school, playing with Seven Lakes High School

She literally towers over other players 5-10 inches on average (which has been proven as one of the optimal heights for female volleyball players. Growing up in a small town in Texas, Ally Batenhorst was always involved with sports. She played basketball, soccer, and volleyball. But, at the age of 16, she decided to focus on one sport-volleyball, and it paid off!
Ally became a four-time all-state player for her Texas High School volleyball team. She earned 8th place at the state tournament her junior year. Her senior year, she led her team to their first-ever regional championship title, where they finished as state runner-ups.
Ally’s successful high school volleyball career earned her a scholarship from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Ally Batenhorst has a tall order with the Nebraska volleyball team this year. The Texas native, who can play all positions on both offense and defense, will be expected from day one to compete for playing time as an outside hitter. Ally loves to play sports, but when it comes to volleyball, a few things stand out about this sport. One thing is how everyone always has your back, and another thing she loves about playing volleyball is how you can make new friends that you will cherish forever!
